ABOUT ARKAR

Arkar grew up in Myanmar and found his way into advocacy communications at nineteen. His first role was in international development, supporting the visibility of an EU-funded environmental conservation project by sequa gGmbH. In the next chapter, Arkar joined the European Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (EuroCham Myanmar) as Communications Officer, managing the strategic communications of a chamber network while supporting over 150 European business members on their responsible business commitments in the country. Much of that work focused on spreading words about labour rights and the livelihoods of women workers in the garment sector, where the gap between what companies promised and what workers experienced was often wide, and where the right story, told to the right audience, could actually shift things.

Later, Arkar moved to the Czech Republic to study Politics, Media, and Communications at Masaryk University. Alongside that, he worked as the International Conference Producer at UNIGLOBAL in Prague, collaborating with senior executives from the global insurance and microfinance sectors to produce international events that brought industry leaders together across borders.

Starting from January 2025, he began supporting the external communications strategy for the campaign to establish an International Anti-Corruption Court, working closely with Integrity Initiatives International Europe in The Hague, Netherlands. In June 2026, he expanded his consulting career by establishing VOIX, focusing on high-impact communications for NGOs and non-profits.
